Rakitnika is a protected area. It is located in Asparuhovo district of Varna municipality. It can be reached by car or bus 17/60. Chernomorets chalet with extensive beach is nearby.

Several hundred to one thousand people live in Rakitnika. There are several shops (for groceries, for building materials), a security company and a chapel. The area is water-supplied and electrified. A cable telephone network has been installed.

Rakitnika welcomes many tourists looking for tranquility, clean air and low prices. To the south is Pasha Dere, where there is a protected wetland and a small stocked lake; it is a forestry and agricultural fund aimed at protecting the habitat of the ancient willow crop. Hiking trails pass through the area from the Chernomorets hut to the Galata district of Varna, which takes about an hour.

In the area near the seashore, tents are stretched in the summer.
