Madara village is located in North-East Bulgaria and is part of the municipality of Shumen.
The village is situated between Ludogorsko and Provadiisko plateau, around the village is very picturesque scenery. The climate is temperate. Winters are cold and summers are hot.
Madara is one of the oldest settlements in Bulgaria. Life was started seven thousand years ago and continues until now. The village has about 1200 inhabitants.

The village has good infrastructure. The roads are in very good condition. The village has a post office, community center, school, kindergarten, shops, cafe, restaurant. The village has a medical office. Regular bus service to the town of Shumen.

National archaeological reserve Madara is in the territory of Shumen area near the first Bulgarian capital Pliska. Today, Madara is one of the most visited tourist sites in the country.
