The village of Veselinovo is located in a semi-mountainous area, 12 km south of the town of Smyadovo, on the border between Pre-Balkan and Stara Planina. It is located on the Shumen-Karnobat road (Rishkia Prohod). The climate is temperate-continental. 2 rivers flow through the village: Brestova and Krštenitsa - it continues as the Brestova river, part of the catchment basin of Golyama Kamchia.

The Black Cookers

One of the things that the village of Veselinovo is famous for is the Masquerade Group "Black Kukeri". It was established in 1977, but there is evidence that kukeri played in the village even during the Russo-Turkish war. Group members are male only. The leader of the group - the bride is a man dressed in women's clothes. Next comes the strongest kuker who guards her, the so-called Karakuka. [7] What is characteristic of them is that they are the only black kukers in Bulgaria, and that their faces are not hidden by masks, but blackened with soot. The hats are handmade from goat skins. They wear two Veselino woven petticoats - one on the waist and one on the shoulders. On their feet they wear woolen tumans and cherubs. Around their waists they wear a belt with thraces, and in their hands they hold wooden swords.

The group is the winner of many awards: a gold medal from the council in Koprivshtitsa, a special award from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the international festival of masquerade games "Surva" 2006 in the city of Pernik, laureates of the festival "Ziva voda" in the city of Hisarya and others.

South of the village is the Skoka natural landmark. It is known for the presence of endemic plant species and the system of karst and rock formations, the most famous of which is the Skoka waterfall, also called the Veselinovsky waterfall.

The livelihood of the population is related to the natural conditions of the area - animal husbandry, agriculture, logging, and recently also beekeeping. For the latter, the conditions are excellent for obtaining ecologically clean products. In the past, hops were also grown for brewer's yeast. In the area of the village, several herds of the semi-primitive Eastern Balkan pig, raised under pasture conditions, are raised.

The language of the population is also interesting. It is assigned to the Varbish language, which belongs to the transitional Balkan languages.
