Village of Petrov dol is located in North-Eastern Bulgaria, in Provadia Municipality, Varna District.
Located near the highway Hemus / Varna - Sofia /, 43 km from Varna and Varna International Airport, 6 km from Provadia.
Petrov dol is a picturesque semi-mountainous village. The climate is temperate continental, with hot summers and mild winters.
The population is about 450 people.
The village has police, hospital, restaurants and bars.
Several English and French families have bought properties in the nearby village of Krivnya for leisure or permanent residence.
Tourism
The area has historical sites, beautiful nature, places suitable for tourist excursions, lakes for fishing and recreation, no industrial pollutants, the locals are peaceful and helpful.
To the north of the village of Petrov dol is the protected area "Golyamata Kanara", inhabited by the rare species of white-tailed buzzard and Egyptian vulture. Between the lands of the villages of Ravna and Venchan is the natural landmark "The Probed Stone".
Rock monasteries have been discovered a few kilometers from the village. Of interest are "Chushtkara" - with preserved rock graffiti, "St. Georgi ”with preserved inscription in Greek and others.
Nearby are the Ereka Drilling Spring and the salt baths in Provadia are the only ones of their kind in the country. There are healing baths with a similar effect only in Karlovy Vary - Czech Republic.
