Location
The village of Malka Arda is 35 km. away from Smolian and a few km. away from Banite. The village of Banite is situated in the heart of the magnificent Rhodope Mountains, in the eastern part of Smolyan district, in the valley of Malka Arda River, 750 meters above the sea level. The holiday village is located 60 km west of the town of Smolyan, 125 km south of Plovdiv, and 270 km southeast of Sofia.

About The Village
The village of Banite is a spa resort. A warm mineral spring has been found in the centre of the village, which according to legends dates back to 2-3 century. Around the spring there have been discovered remnants of an ancient bath that is an evidence for the prosperity of the settlement in the past.

The village offers wonderful opportunities for tourism. The picturesque mountain nature, the warm mineral spring, the favourable moderate continental climate, the fresh and clean air make Banite an attractive place for many Bulgarian and foreign tourists.
The spa resort is a starting point for walks, outgoings and routes to beautiful places such as Belite brezi (The white birches - 22 km), Konatzite, Krastova gora, Haidushki poliani (30 km), the peaks Svoboda (Freedom), Veshkata, and Rozhen, to the chalets of Svoboda (Freedom) and Prespa, and to the winter resort of Pamporovo.

The Spa
The temperature of the remedial hyper thermal mineral water of the village of Banite is 35 - 43degC. It is slightly mineralized and contains sulphates and hydro carbonates of sodium, fluorine, potassium, and nitrogen. It has a weak alkaline reaction and a debit of 17 l/sec.

One not so well known fact about Pamporovo and the region. A first class road is being built at the moment (will be completed 2008), which will connect Bulgaria with the Greek coastline. This way you will be in the mountains - ski resort (winter time) and 1 hour drive to the beautiful Greek coastal line (summer time). This will quickly increase the value of all real estate in the region.
